Gregory S. Metzger
Owner
Metzger & AssociatesGreg Metzger is the Owner of Metzger & Associates, a full service law firm located in Louisville, Kentucky that serves primarily businesses in the areas of Labor and Employment matters, contract disputes, licensing and regulatory issues, real estate and zoning matters and risk management and insurance issues. Mr. Metzger started his firm in January 2008 and uses both his in-house counsel and private practice experience to provide quality legal services to his clients.
Prior to opening his firm, he worked as Operations Counsel for Atria Senior Living Group, Inc. (“Atria”) from February 2004 to January 2008 and for Res-Care, Inc. (“Res-Care”) from February 1998 to February 2004. Both Atria and Res-Care are national companies with operations in over 28 states. In his capacity as their Operations Counsel, Mr. Metzger handled a variety of legal matters for Atria and Res-Care but was primarily responsible for all Labor and Employment matters for the companies.
Mr. Metzger represented Atria and Res-Care with respect to charges of discrimination against them before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and before state and local EEO administrative agencies. He also worked with the companies’ Human Resources Departments in creating and implementing Human Resource Policies and Procedures, as well as training programs for their managers and employees. While at Atria, Mr. Metzger also assisted the company with respect to a nation-wide union organizing campaign waged by the Service Employees International Union 1199 (“SEIU 1199”).
Prior to joining Res-Care, Mr. Metzger practiced with two large regional law-firms, Greenebaum, Doll and McDonald and Jackson Kelly, in the areas of Labor and Employment law, from 1995 to 1998. Mr. Metzger is licensed in Kentucky and West Virginia and was named a Kentucky Super Lawyer for 2009 in the area of Employment and Labor law by Law & Politics magazine. He is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
In his spare time from his law practice, Mr. Metzger enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and his three children, Ben (12), Sarah (10) and Maggie (8). He enjoys coaching his children in baseball, softball and basketball, but mostly enjoys getting outside with them to play tennis and ride bikes.

Elizabeth graduated from Iowa State University and holds a Masters degree in industrial relations and a Bachelors degree in Economics and Anthropology. She has been certified as a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) since 1987.

Since 2001, Mr. Kraus has founded and operated Human Resource consulting and outsourcing firms. Prior to starting his own businesses, Mr. Kraus was a senior Human Resource executive working for organizations with multi-state operations and employee counts up to 30,000. Mr. Kraus possesses a strong business orientation with proven sales/business development skills and has worked for both privately-held and publicly-traded organizations.
Mr. Kraus has been a featured contributor, presenter and guest on Human Resource issues for the Louisville and Southern Indiana Chambers of Commerce, Small Business Development Centers, the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, university classes, local business print media and radio programming. Mr. Kraus has presented seminars nationally on Human Resource issues for various organizations and industry associations.
